MAN Americana (4000 Series) Buses Retired
- By Kevin Zolkiewicz
The CTA has now retired all remaining MAN Americana (4000 Series) buses. The buses were the second oldest in the fleet, being in service since 1985. The buses are currently being replaced by NABI Articulated (7500 Series) buses. The CTA also hopes to retire the MAN Articulated (7300 Series) buses by the end of the summer. These buses were originally built in 1982 and were purchased by the CTA from Seattle in 2001 as a temporary replacement for the now retired 7100 series of MAN Articulated buses.
